How It All Started…
Adirondack Mountain Research was born out of the COVID-19 crisis of 2020. With the world in lockdown and a shortage of protective equipment search and rescue team Adirondack Mountain Rescue began an effort to facilitate independent volunteers with 3D printers to start producing PPE for people at risk. Requests started coming in from hospitals and search and rescue teams for special designs.
Out of these requests Adirondack Mountain Research was born. After developing a few designs we decided to make them publicly available on this site for anyone who needs them and to allow those people an outlet for new design ideas and improvements. Advancements in 3D printing make prototyping an efficient and exciting possibility so if you have an idea that can benefit the public please let us know.
